Aviation
St. John's Northwestern's Aviation Science program offers a unique opportunity to students interested in earning their private pilot's license. The program also prepares students interested in pursuing future degrees in aerospace and aviation-related majors.
Aviation Science is a
two-semester course and is available starting only in the fall. A licensed ground school instructor teaches the course during a daily academic period, during which cadets can earn one credit toward graduation. Flying lessons are contracted through a local flight school under the guidance of the Academy. For cadets who earn their pilot's license during their junior year, we also offer an advanced aviation course in which the cadet may obtain an instrument rating.
There are additional fees, and age and academic requirements for the Aviation Science program. Space is limited.
