About The Columbarium

Whether you are planning to have your cremated remains interred in The Columbarium at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, or simply utilize this magnificent structure as a memorial and help maintain the Academy's traditions and history, this place will always be...

...a place of honor, respect, and dignity.

On September 29, 2001 St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, Wisconsin dedicated its newest structure. The Columbarium was built and dedicated to give the Alumni, family of Alumni, faculty and staff and friends of the Academy a place to be memorialized with their own individual cremation niche. These niches, there will eventually be 1,340 of them, will represent people who choose to be a permanent part of this honored and limited memorial.

This beautiful structure is truly a place for the living. The Columbarium is located adjacent to The Noble Victory Chapel of St. John the Divine, which is the center of worship and moral education that is instrumental in shaping the lives of the cadets of the Academy. As a visitor enters its large, impressive iron gates beneath the stone archway, they get an immediate feeling of comfort. This memorial provides a feeling of history and traditions and a place for people to reflect on the people that have chosen to become a part of St. John's Northwestern's history, traditions and unique character. As they walk down the walkway towards the fountain, the Wall of Honor comes into view where names of Alumni of the Academy who have given their lives in worldwide conflicts are forever displayed proudly for all to see.

A personal visit to The Columbarium is something that everyone who has an occasion to visit Delafield or St. John's Northwestern will not want to miss. It is unique in its structure, purpose and eclectic mix of individuals that become a part of its honor, respect, and dignity.
