Midwinter Ball

March 4-5, 2017

Midwinter Ball is an Academy tradition that dates back to the turn of the 20th Century. For thousands of past participants, Midwinter Ball is remembered as one of the highlights of their high school experience.

The festivities on Saturday include afternoon entertainment, a formal dinner and military ball that is held in the evening. Just a few of the ceremonial activities that occur during the ball are the posting of the national colors, experiencing a formal receiving line, participating in a grand processional with an "arch of steel," and, for the cadet leadership, the presenting of honorary military rank to their dates.
