Field of Flags Program: Leaving a Mark and Honoring Our Country
Back to Giving Overview
The Field of Flags program is part of the first phase of the Outdoor Athletic Complex renovation project, which began with the relocation of the parade field. A portion of the funding for this project has come from donors who established 156 American flags that surround the new parade field, each with a permanent marker engraved with their choice of inscription at the base of the poles.
The inauguration ceremony for the Field of Flags was held on October 10, 2008, during Parents' & Homecoming Weekend. The American flags will continue to be flown on special days such as Veterans' Day, Memorial Day, Parents' Weekends, and Commencement & Reunion Weekend.
The tax-deductible donation required to reserve a flag is $1,884 (in honor of our founding year), and only a few are still available. For more information on the Field of Flags, contact Cindy Trione in the Development Office at (800) 234-9097 or ctrione@sjnma.org.
American Flags Express in Butler, Wisconsin, constructed the Field of Flags on the SJNMA campus. View the Field of Flags video to see the construction process.
