Senior Chief Shannon Miller retired from active duty in May 2017. During his 24-year naval career, he served onboard three different ships, was as a search and rescue swimmer, served 20 years in the JAGC Corps, completed six military deployments, and tallied up over 10 years of sea duty time in support of Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and numerous naval exercises in the Mediterranean Sea and Southwestern Pacific.
He joined SJNMA in March 2018 as head coach of the Lancers track and field team. In the summer of 2018, he was a counselor for Lancers Day Camp and a resident faculty officer for Summer OPS. In the fall of 2018, he was named as the head coach for the cross-country team and started as a full-time resident faculty officer for the 2018-2019 academic year.
He is a graduate from the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and has earned a bachelor’s degree in management studies from University of Maryland University College, and an associate’s degree in paralegal studies from Roger Williams University (ABA Accredited).
