As a private educational institution, St. John's Northwestern Military Academy must rely on the financial support of our alumni, parents and friends to help ensure that our programs and facilities are the best they can be.

Our largest fundraising event of the year is The Excalibur dinner and auction, and it is widely attended by alumni, parents, staff and people who do business with our school. Last year, more than 285 guests attended and $283,605 was raised to benefit the entire SJNMA community -- the highest raised at any Excalibur!

Guests of The Excalibur enjoy a fun social atmosphere, delicious food and fabulous auction items to bid on. The Excalibur uses electronic bidding devices for the silent auction, which means you'll be able to use your smartphone or a provided BidPal device to bid from anywhere at any time during the silent auction. And if you are unable to attend the event, you can still bid on items remotely.

Tickets are $75 per person until April 1 ($90 thereafter). Cadet tickets are $65 each regardless of when they are purchased.

The Excalibur cannot be a success without special donors to help underwrite the event. Please consider joining our list of sponsors! Reserved seating AND parking is available for our sponsors of The Excalibur, so please consider reserving a table of 10 - your entire table will get to be among the first in the delicious buffet line. All Excalibur sponsors qualify for membership in the Academy's Leaders Circle and will receive special recognition on the electronic bidding devices, in The Excalibur catalog, on the Academy and The Excalibur websites, and during the event.

Sponsor a table at the $10,000, $5,000, $2,500, or $1,000 level and reap the benefits for your family and friends, for your cadet and his friends, or for your cadet's favorite RFOs and/or teachers!

$10,000 and $5,000 Top Level Sponsors will receive a first-class experience including an overnight stay at Staybridge Suites or Country Springs on Saturday, April 28, a personal bartender and waitstaff, and your choice of a seated dinner or being head of the buffet line. $10,000 Sponsors will be seated at the President's table.

Consider a Faculty/Staff or Cadet Appreciation Donation
For a tax-deductible donation of $100, honor an SJNMA faculty/staff member or a cadet by having the individual's name listed in a special section in the auction catalog and on the Academy's website.

Purchase Ad Space
Feature a business or personal ad in The Excalibur auction catalog, which will be distributed to all of our guests ($200 full-page ad; $100 half-page ad).

FUND-A-NEED: To be Determined
Guests will be given the opportunity to raise their paddles in support of a special project. Last year's Excalibur FUND-A-NEED raised an incredible $150,000 to bolster the Academy's marketing efforts. SJNMA has a great story, and with this additional support this story will be heard.

Fall Fest Fundraiser features a festive social atmosphere, fun games and activities (including a dunk tank), silent auction items with electronic bidding, raffles, a cash bar, and more. There will also be a FUND-A-NEED/special appeal that will start at noon. Proceeds support the Academy's Annual Fund, which benefits every cadet, teacher, program and department on campus. Please be sure to join us for this family friendly community event during Homecoming & Families Weekend!

Auction Items Needed
You can help by donating an item for the auction. Unique items do very well (things that cannot be purchased in a store)! Other desired items include any type of food baskets, wine, sports memorabilia, electronics, vacation homes/trips, unique experiences, spa services, and jewelry.

Entrance to Fall Fest Fundraiser is FREE, but be sure to provide your credit card information at or at the door to start bidding on auction items and to make a gift to the FUND-A-NEED (a special project to be announced soon). The Pig & Chicken Roast is $20 per adult; free for children 10 and under; and cadets eat as part of their regular meal plan. Register online for the Pig & Chicken Roast (proceeds benefit the Old Boys Alumni Association Scholarship Fund).

The success of Fall Fest Fundraiser depends largely on our wonderful sponsors. Please consider joining our list of sponsors! Sponsorship levels are $2,500, $1,000, $500, and $250. All sponsor logos/names will scroll across the screens of smartphones that will be managed by all of our bidders, providing maximum visibility! All of our sponsors will also receive recognition on the Academy and Fall Fest websites and in the Academy's Honor Roll of Donors. In addition, each sponsor level will receive the following:

  • $2,500 - You will receive VIP parking during Homecoming & Families Weekend, October 6-8. In addition, your name and/or company logo will be prominently displayed at the dunk tank, and you will qualify for membership in the Academy's Leaders Circle at the Emerald level.
  • $1,000 - Your name and/or company logo will be prominently displayed at the bar, and you will qualify for membership in the Academy's Leaders Circle at the Premier level.
  • $500 - Your name and/or company logo will be prominently displayed at a silent auction table, raffle table, registration/checkout table, or tickets sales table.
  • $250 - Your name and/or company logo will be displayed at the event.

Last Year's Fall Fest Success
Held during Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, October 8, 2016, the first-ever Fall Fest Fundraiser hosted hundreds of attendees at Farrand Hall Gymnasium. The Academy is most grateful to everyone who supported Fall Fest through a sponsorship, auction item donation, by contributing their time and talent, and/or attending. The event proved to be a success raising $79,013 in its first year – $51,800 of which was raised for the relocation of the War Memorial Room:

On June 10, 1949, a War Memorial Room, dedicated to St. John's cadets who died in WWII, was opened within the Academy's newest building, Farrand Hall Gymnasium. The War Memorial Room was intended to be a hallowed place to remind us of the sacrifices these young men made to secure our freedoms. Sadly, the War Memorial Room is rarely seen by anyone because it is tucked away in a corner of Farrand Hall Gymnasium (flanked by a washroom and a utility room). This is why we sought to find a new home for it. The Academy secured a generous lead gift of $25,000 from Soat-Vergenz VFW Post #721 to relocate the Memorial Room to the rotunda in DeKoven Hall. This new location will ensure that the room's intended purpose is served. The FUND-A-NEED raised a total of $26,800 and our goal to match the VFW's $25,000 lead gift was exceeded for a total of $51,800. Thank you to those who supported the very important project. A dedication ceremony was held on May 19, 2017.
